Arrived in Cambridge, England

Today was a travel day-- a fairly long one, but we're all safe and sound here in Cambridge, settling in for 5 nights here at The Gonville Hotel Best Western on Parker's Pieces in central Cambridge.

There is still plenty of snow all across Western Europe; some 3"-5" in France and England.  The snow is beautiful, but it has delayed plane and train travel.  Although our Eurostar train did travel from Paris to London, it was an hour late departing and then arrived in London about 2 hours later than expected.  However, we were able to take a regional train from King's Cross station to Cambridge very easily, and arrived in town by 3pm.  A fleet of some 4-5 taxis then took us to our hotel.

We spent the first day walking around the town in the light snow, taking in some essential sights such as the central markets, King's Parade, and a few shops.  Many of us had dinner at The Eagle across from King's College, where American Pilots during WWII ate and drank before missions; many of their signatures are still up on the ceiling in the back part of the pub.

Here are a few photos of some excited travelers on track number 9-3/4 at King's Cross Station, right where we travelled from.  Harry Potter fans will recognize this location as the place where the magic track appeared that led to the Hogwarts Express train.
